We believe that you are most likely to stick to your fitness routine if it is as fun as riding a roller coaster at Movie World, which is why we think it’s  high time to introduce Australia to the spectacular world of Wheel Gymnastics.

Fun and exciting sport for all ages,  it’s hours of spinning enjoyment and an all body workout.

Cyr & German Wheel Club is led by Ludwig Schukin, an internationally recognized wheel gymnastics coach and circus artist with 30+ years of teaching and performing  experience and the likes of Cirque du Soleil under his belt. So, prepare to be entertained as well as trained!

We started rolling in 2016

When Ludwig bought two German wheels and began training his own kids. He felt like a kid in a candy store!

​His first training space was tiny, even the smallest wheel couldn’t do two full rotations, which is what is needed for many tricks. So, when he finally moved to a basketball court at an indoor stadium it was a real woohoo moment.

For the following 6 years Cyr & German Wheel Club has been a passion project for Ludwig, that he’s run alongside teaching future performing artists at the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) at Swinburne University. 

But now in 2023 it has his full attention as we are bring our fabulous wheels to the amazing Gold Coast full time. So, you too can enjoy hours of spinning fun and fitness.

Ludwig’s long-term goal is to build the profile of wheel gymnastics so it’s a recognised sport in Australia, and take an Australian team to the world championships

At Cyr & German Wheel Club you will learn from the most qualified and experienced wheel gymnastics coach in Australia.

Ludwig  has spent 20+ years teaching kids and adults gymnastics and circus skills, including 13 years teaching future performing artists at the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) at Swinburne University.  
Ludwig’s qualifications include:

  • Level 2 in Wheel Gymnastics from the International Wheel Federation (Germany & USA Wheel Gymnastics Federation) 

  • Advance Diploma in Circus Arts (Australia)

  • Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education)

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 

  • Intermediate Coaching Accreditation in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics and Sport Acrobatics (Gymnastics Australia)

  • First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check

    Ludwig is an inspiring and encouraging coach and makes learning fun. He is obsessed with wheels (we think) and on a mission to teach everyone some cool wheel skills. In his own words: “Seeing my students finally master that trick that evaded them for some time, it’s honestly the best feeling ever!”
